The Wealthy Woman's Guide: How to Break Free from Limiting Beliefs and Achieve Financial Success

May 02, 2023

Money mindset is a topic that is very dear to my heart, and it is something I believe we, as women, must master to ensure it is in alignment with our bigger visions and the impact we want to create around us and in the world.

How is your relationship with money? Have you fallen into the trap of thinking like the woman executive in Nada Ahmed's book, “Determined to Lead” who, when asked about a potential pay raise, said, "That's not why I changed the job"? Let me share my own story.

Money saves lives! My experience with Benjamin showed me that, initially, he was denied the therapy that would give him a long, happy life because it was too expensive. Lack of money, in my view, is believing a lie! We can lack the resource - money - but when we are resourceful, money will come!

Take Baby Kushal in India as an example. His father connected with me on LinkedIn because I had shared my son Benjamin's suffering from Hurler syndrome, and his son Kushal , only 13 months old, would die early unless he received medicine.

Two things had to work beautifully together: a lot of money had to be fundraised, and doctors and researchers had to communicate and get over their fear of territory and power. We managed both! I was able to contribute because I have always been driven to make lots of money, knowing where it would land and the impact it would create.

Money is one of the most important resources at the moment. There's enough money in the world, and you can be the one who ensures it lands where you can create a lasting impact.

If you want to make a difference but don't want to generate money, you will almost certainly get nowhere. Mother Teresa was an expert in driving money to her causes. Gandhi said, "There is a sufficiency in the world for man's need but not for man's greed. Seek not greater wealth, but simpler pleasure; not higher fortune, but deeper felicity. A man's true wealth hereafter is the good he has done to his fellowmen."

A client of mine was being headhunted. We worked through each opportunity, aiming to come from her purpose and move towards her vision. In the end, two important companies were fighting to get her. It was down to money. She told me she already had everything she wanted and didn't need more material possessions. Now, it was time to get serious with her money mindset.

We discussed her purpose and vision, and what she wanted to influence the most in the world. She started to share her passion for energy for all, children's right to education, and more. I asked her how she would achieve that with the money she already made. She paused, smiled, and said, "Oh, I know what I will negotiate on behalf of. My income will double! The money has an impactful place to land."

She got what she asked for! She is having a massive impact!

So, how do you change your scarcity mindset into an abundance mindset? As a successful executive woman, I have learned the importance of shifting our mindset from scarcity to abundance, especially when it comes to money. It has been a transformational journey for me, and I want to share with you the five steps that have helped me change my money mindset and embrace the abundance that life has to offer:

Recognize and reframe limiting beliefs
Practice gratitude
Surround yourself with positive influences
Set clear and achievable financial goals
Invest in yourself

Changing your money mindset takes time, commitment, and practice, but it's worth it. As you work through these steps, be patient and gentle with yourself. Remember, you are a strong, capable woman, deserving of all the abundance the universe has to offer.

Warmly,

Rita
